Userplane is a California-based firm which provides flash-based web chat and instant messaging feature for websites.  The firm is targeting online social networking sites like Friendster since the number of potential users is increasing.  Facebook, one the other hand, attracts many third party developers with this idea. In fact, there is an increasing number of projects on the web which is related to the creation of Facebook application.

He also noted thatalthough the number of people having friends on these sites is getting bigger and bigger. The real number of friends that can be considered close is approximately the same as in the face-to-face real world contact.
