Userplane Ties up With Friendster
The popularity of social networking sites such as MySpace, Friendster and Multiply hit the Internet community by storm. These
social networking sites are now one of the most favorite sites among online users. The number of social networking sites joining the top 20 list by Alexa is apparently increasing.
One very nice feature of these sites is that it connects you to your network of friends. The question is, do these social networking sites help promote close intimacy among members and create a what we call “close friendship”?
According to the study of a British researcher, social networking sites are unlikely to promote close friendship. One of the reasons is that people still feel that they still need a face-to-face contact with the person in order to gain trust and confidence. This finding is based from the research of Dr. Will Reader of the Sheffield Hallam University in Northern England. He also noted thatalthough the number of people having friends on these sites is getting bigger and bigger. The real number of friends that can be considered close is approximately the same as in the face-to-face real world contact.
Do you often surf the Internet? If you do, then I am pretty sure that you already heard about MySpace and Friendster. MySpace and Friendster are just two of the famous online social networking sites today. Social networking sites have tremendously and become one of the most popular websites nowadays. This is obviously true since there are now more and more social networking sites that are joining in the top 20 list by Alexa.

Registering an account is the first thing to do to join any social networking sites. Becoming a member enables you to enjoy the features of these websites such as creating your own profile page and inviting friends to your network. These social networking sites are free and easy to use. The best example is Friendster.com where you can create and edit your profile page. If you have knowledge on HTML programming, you can enhance your Friendster layout page.
Social Networking sites give members a wide variety of keyword phrases making you easily find other members nearest in your city or town and invite them to join your network.
MySpace, on the other hand offers more secure features by providing the user the ability to set their profile in private. This is a big step towards security especially among minor members.
Other features like collection of music and videos, horoscopes, careers and others make these online social networking sites even more exciting.
